Welcome

Since you are here it's obvious that you have an interest in prayer. There is nothing like getting into the presence of God through prayer. I pray that God will give you the spiritual desires of your heart and may you grow and be blessed in God.

May God bless you and yours!

5th Annual Community Day

Reaching Up In Worship to the One True God, Reach Out In Evangelism with the Apostolic Message and Reach In with Discipleship by the Word of God. This is our mission statement that is implemented by Pastor Anthony Cox every week. Not only is this our mission statement but also our vision. It is our greatest desire to reach as many families, children, and teenagers in our community as possible. The UPC of Harvey greatly understands our role and responsibility to the Great Commission of Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. We want to extend the love of Christ by reaching out to our Community as often as possible.

We just had our 5th Annual Community Day Event. This event is a FREE fun filled day for everyone in the community. We give away 100 bags of school supplies to the first 100 children that sign up. Clothing is available for all ages. We also provide tons of free food along with numerous children and teenage games. Give always consisting of gift cards, cash, bikes, and gas cards. Moonwalk for the younger children, barber shops contributing their time and talent to give free hair cuts to boys. We also have Cook County giving safety seminars to seniors as well as fee emergency only cell phones. When we walk in purpose with compassion for the things of God, he will always make away. The total cost of this event was sponsored by Alderman Charles Givens, the City of Harvey, and Businesses in the area. They supplied the resources we need. We strongly believe in the word of God, and his word tells us in Psalms 13:22 that the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just!

So far we have purchased a second van for our Youth Department, which is steadily growing, as well as Kids Church. We are seeing these kids seeking the Lord at the altar, being filled with the Holy Ghost! It is not about numbers but about, hurting people. People who deserve the life of holiness and righteousness that we live everyday. Families that are in a hurting world have the right to experience Acts 2:38 for themselves and be delivered from a world of depression, loneliness, emotional hurts, broken by drug addiction, and alcoholism. They have a right to come into the presence of God and have a life changing experience! Reaching out to a Community is one of the best things we can do as the people of God.
